One of a kind Language!

One of a kind Language!

For many of us, when we think of taking bereavement leave for a loved one, we think of parents, grand-parents, siblings or immediate relatives. But what about some of the other cherished loved ones in our lives? For folks who require a service animal, that animal can be an extension of who they consider their family, a beloved part of their everyday life.

For staff at NABET-UNIFOR, bereavement leave in their Collective Agreement doesn't stop at immediate family. Service animals are also included as eligible individuals. While this may seem insignificant to some, for our members who rely on service animals day-in and day-out, the language is an important step in acknowledging the tremendous impact that the loss of their trusted companion can have. This one of a kind language will continue to serve as a reminder of the unique work that unions do.

MAKE YOUR PERSONAL ELECTION PLAN

The Tories want you to tune out and not bother to cast your vote. Don’t fall for the PC ploy.

While Dougie has been making sweetheart deals with his business chronies, the rest of us are dealing with health care and education standards that are going down and a cost of living that’s going up.

COPE Ontario is working with our locals and the labour movement to mobilize workers to act in their interests – vote against Doug Ford on election day.
