No Space For Hate

Statement from COPE Ontario in Support of the LGBTQ+ Community and Against #1MillionMarch4Children

COPE Ontario stands firmly in support of the LGBTQ+ community and their rights, and we unequivocally condemn any form of hate or discrimination. It has come to our attention that the #1MillionMarch4Children event has been associated with anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments, which runs counter to our principles of inclusion, diversity, and equality.

Despite the groups claiming these protests are to protect children, the reality is they would harm children more than ever.  Systematic exclusion of people through educational environments is unacceptable.

We believe in a society where every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, deserves respect, dignity, and equal rights. Discrimination and hate have no place in our society.

We encourage open dialogue and peaceful assembly to address important issues, but we cannot condone any event or movement that promotes hate or discrimination against any group of people. We call on all individuals and organizations to stand together against prejudice and bigotry, and to promote love, acceptance, and understanding.

COPE Ontario reaffirms our commitment to championing the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community and working towards a more inclusive and equitable society for all. We urge our fellow citizens to join us in promoting tolerance, diversity, and unity, and to reject any actions or movements that seek to divide or discriminate against any community.

In Solidarity,
COPE Ontario
