On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the COVID-19 outbreak constitutes a pandemic.
Public Health and the Ministry of Health continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Minister of Health Christine Elliott, has stated that the government is implementing “an enhanced pandemic response” that includes surveillance, laboratory testing ,and appropriate care and treatment.
According to Dr. David Williams, the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario and Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health for Ontario the risk to Ontarians still remains low.
